PRESIDENT Hage Geingob has directed information minister Tjekero Tweya to reinstate businesswoman Ally Angula as a director of Namibia Post and Telecommunications Holdings (NPTH), the company that holds government's shares in telecommunications giant MTC.
Tweya fired Angula as director of the NPTH board on 16 August 2017, saying her actions, which he did not reveal, led to distrust between the two. “As the appointing authority, I view such behaviour as unacceptable,” Tweya said in a letter two weeks ago. The government established the NPTH in 1992 to own shares in state companies such as NamPost and Telecom Namibia.
