Pretorius memorial service on Saturday

A MEMORIAL service for veteran politician and parliamentarian Kosie Pretorius, who died last Friday after a short illness, will be held at Walvis Bay on Saturday.

Jacobus 'Kosie' Willem Francois Pretorius was 81 at the time of his death. One of his daughters, Ellina Theron, described him as “a committed family man”. Swapo Party secretary general Nangolo Mbumba on Sunday described Pretorius as a man who liked to work by the book. “He was a gentleman. Even when you differed with him, he always stood his ground,” he stated. Mbumba said parliament was fortunate to have had Pretorius because he meaningfully contributed to debates.
