THE City of Windhoek intends generating almost N$600 million more in revenues in its new financial year, according to the budget approved at last week's city council meeting.
About N$230 million of this amount would be raised through increases in water, electricity and other tariffs, while about N$350 million would be generated “from other sources”. At the same time, the city will pay N$220 million more towards the salaries and allowances of municipal workers. These figures are contained in the N$5,3 billion budget approved at last week's municipal council meeting.
