WELWITSCHIAS coach Lyn Jones has rung the changes for their Supersport Rugby Challenge match against the Blue Bulls in Pretoria on Saturday, with a total of 13 changes made to his squad of 22 players.
With the national side leaving for Uruguay on Thursday to compete in the Nations Cup, numerous first-choice players were not available and Jones has used the opportunity to bring in some exciting young prospects. They include Wanderers' young centre Jandre du Toit, Walvis Bay fly half Dirk von Weidts and Western Suburbs winger Nikin Cloete, who will all make their debut on Saturday. Amongst the forwards, Wanderers prop Christo McNeish and Unam lock Muniovita Kasiringua are recalled after recovering from injury, while United hooker Niel van Vuuren is called up for the first time since last year's campaign. Amongst the backs, Cameron Klassen of Unam takes over at scrum half from national captain Eugene Jantjies, and Aurelio Plato takes over at fullback in place of David Philander who moves to the wing.
