The legal challenge against the Bank of Namibia's (BoN) decision to take control of the SME Bank will be continuing following a High Court ruling that their case would not be heard on an urgent basis, said Sisa Namandje, who represents three former senior SME Bank officials and three of the bank's former directors, yesterday. Namandje said he had instructions from his clients to proceed with their case without delay, after judge Shafimana Ueitele ruled in the Windhoek High Court yesterday that the requirements to have the matter heard on an urgent basis had not been met. His clients want the matter to go ahead so that the merits of their challenge against the central bank's decision to take control of the SME Bank can be heard, Namandje said.
