A PERSON who leaks confidential tax information might be fined N$50 000 under the soon-to-be-formed Namibia Revenue Agency.
However, a board member of the new tax-collecting parastatal might only face a fine of N$5 000 for failing to declare their interest. These details are included in a draft bill that will guide the setting up of the revenue agency – a state body that will collect taxes on behalf of government. Finance minister Calle Schlettwein said the proposed bill will be tabled in the National Assembly this year.
