RA CEO Conrad Lutombi said the B1 stretch from Okahandja to Otjiwarongo and Otavi records the most accidents, and that extending the dual carriageway beyond Okahandja could bring down the number of road accidents.  He also said cameras have been placed along the new roads to monitor traffic, and would be used to prosecute offenders.  The RA chief mentioned that construction on the completed section had commenced in January 2014, and was completed in December 2016. 130 Namibians had been employed through the National Youth Service, and eight SMEs have been supported.
