Production at Swakop Uranium's Husab mine in the Erongo region will start next month, CEO Zheng Keping said yesterday.
He said this when he paid a courtesy visit on acting president Nickey Iyambo at his offices yesterday. At full production, the mine will make Namibia the third biggest uranium producer in the world, Keping said. The mine will move 15 million tonnes of ore per annum, and has a nameplate capacity of 50 tonnes per annum. The operation includes a processing plant.
