The coastal branch of the Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) on Thursday raised N.dollars 485 000 at a fundraising gala dinner hosted at Swakopmund.
The aim of the event was to raise funds for the Swakopmund International Trade Expo (SWAITEX) to take place on the 15 September in Swakopmund. The expo, in turn, aims to create an opportunity for businesses and community stakeholders to showcase their products and services to the public ,while at the same time forging networks that will encourage economic growth.
The Governor of the Erongo Region, Cleophas Mutjavikua concluded the following: "Swaitex was created to provide a platform for business community to showcase their product. The Namibian youth need to play an active role in the economy by starting their own business to be employed and create employment."
