The voting by teachers over an industrial strike to pressure government to agree to their demand of 8% salary increase that was scheduled for today has been postponed to next week Tuesday. Teachers were expected to vote for or against the strike at various schools today after the Namibia National Teachers Union (Nantu) failed to convince government to increase their salaries by 8%. Government made an offer of 5%, citing economic difficulties and budget constraints.
