LUKAS Frederick is still grieving the death of his 20-year-old son who was stabbed in a Keetmanshoop club on 1 July, and died a day later. The heartbroken father only managed to lay his son to rest over the weekend because of financial limitations to cover the funeral costs. Romeo Frederick (20) became just another stabbing statistic in the //Karas region where, according to police, a stab victim is buried at least every three weeks. At the time when Romeo was killed, a 31-year-old soldier was also stabbed to death around 05h00 at the town. So far this year, the police say, they have recorded eight fatal stabbings involving men aged between 20 and 64. Six of the stabbings were recorded at Keetmanshoop, while the other two were at Karasburg.
