Erongo RED: Tariffs to increase by 6.9%

The Erongo RED Chief Executive Officer yesterday clarified the Erongo Region's average tariffs increase at 6.9% at a press briefing in Walvis Bay.

The increase for the year 2016/2017 is the weighed average of the tariff categories to the different groups of consumers.

Of the 10 000 low income group, 4827 pensioners will be affected with an average increase between 3.1 to 4.8%

Erongo RED CEO Robert Kahimise concluded the following: ‘’We are fully aware of the impact electricity increase has on our costumer including businesses. We have look into possible ways to make electricity affordable.’’
