NAMIBIA Wildlife Resorts on Wednesday said they have employed more people than necessary, leading to a N$7 million additional cost to its wage bill every year.
The company’s managing director Zelna Hengari said this in a press statement in which the company refuses to increase workers’ salaries. According to Hengari, as a result of the huge workforce and the wage agreement with the Namibia Public Workers’ Union (Napwu) after government’s intervention to add four additional leave days on a monthly basis to the workers’ additional leave benefits, the company’s expenditure soared. Hengari was reacting following a collapse in new wage negotiations with Napwu.
