Jooste calls for better relations with SOEs

PUBLIC enterprises minister Leon Jooste has called for greater cooperation and communication between his ministry and heads of state−owned enterprises.

He made the remarks at the public enterprises chief executive officers’ forum’s annual general meeting yesterday. Jooste said change can only come when parastatal bosses are prepared to work with the ministry, adding that solutions to the challenges facing public enterprises cannot be found in isolation. He also called upon the CEO’s to be bold and free to challenge the ministry’s stance as this will only help the ministry avoid mistakes.
