PRESIDENT Hage Geingob said Cabinet has directed four top government executives to explain to the public how the price of the new parliament building ballooned to N$2,4 billion.
Cabinet directed vice president Nickey Iyambo, Prime Minister Saara Kuugongelwa−Amadhila, National Assembly Speaker Peter Katjavivi and National Council chairperson Margaret Mensah−Williams to tell the public about the rationale behind the proposed new parliament building, and clarify issues pertaining to the financing of the project at a press conference. This decision was made at a Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday where Geingob, who appears to be supporting the new parliament building, brought up the topic.
