Villager (70) arrested for sodomising 9−year old boy

POLICE arrested a 70−year−old man for allegedly raping a 9−year−old boy at the Ondore Village near Opuwo on Friday last week.

Police spokesperson inspector Slogan Matheus confirmed the incident yesterday.

“It is alleged that the victim’s parents and the suspect share the same kraal. On Friday 29 April at about 10h00, the victim was looking after goats, including the suspect’s goats, when he [the victim] complained that he felt tired and had a headache, and went to sleep under the shade of a tree,” said Matheus. He said the suspect allegedly found the minor resting under the tree, sodomised him and threatened to kill him if he informed anybody about it. “Three days after the incident, the victim told the other children at home what had happened. They then informed the parents,” Matheus said.
