THREE−YEAR−OLD Matheus Natangwe Thiodor from the Omaalala village died on Saturday afternoon after a loose tombstone fell on him.
The Oshana police regional commander commissioner Rauha Amwele confirmed the incident yesterday. The boy, whose home is close to the graveyard, was allegedly playing with other children around the graves when the incident happened. Family members said the tombstone that killed the boy was erected about two weeks ago. A family member, Anelly Lwaanda, said they feel shocked about the loss. Her sister Selm Lwaanda echoed the same sentiments saying that there is no doubt the work done by the funeral company caused the death of their beloved son. Selma told The Namibian that the family has spoken to the owner of the company that worked on the grave, although she could not reveal the contents of the discussion.
