THE crew sent to salvage the wreckage of a helicopter that crashed about two weeks ago also crashed yesterday, killing one.
The helicopter crashed on top of a mountain, about 15 kilometres east of Windhoek yesterday morning. Acting director of the Directorate of Aircraft Accident Investigations Magnus Abraham confirmed the crash to The Namibian earlier yesterday. Police head of the air wing directorate Flip Blaauw said four people were on board, and one died on the spot. E−Med Rescue 24 Paramedical Services attended to the three injured persons, who have since been admitted to the Lady Pohamba Private Hospital in critical but stable conditions.
