National Youth Service has 9th inauguration training

The National Youth Service had its 9th inauguration training last week in Henties Bay with 489 trainees to the cost of N$1 million and included the presence of the President of Namibia.

The national youth service is a youth development service institution established by the National youth service Act in 2005 and started operating in 2008 nationally. The aim is to deliver relevant national services and offer recognized skill training as well as personal development programmes to the youth, through achieving the necessary institutional capacity while engaging in income generating ventures in line with national development goals.

Mandela Kapere the National youth service chairperson concluded the following

‘’The main objective of the skill training programme is to equip the youth with relevant knowledge and skills which will enable them to be absorbed in the job market as well as to be self employed.’’
