With the unemployment rate which is very high and considering the current war against poverty, the Constituency office in Swakopmund is making things possible for the unemployed youth by assisting them with a vegetable garden that started last year at the Swakopmund nursery.

The gardening project is an initiative of the Community Development Committee (CDC) to encourage local community members to produce organic vegetables. Currently there are four youth members co-ordinating the vegetable garden and they generate their income from the sales they make from the produced vegetables.

To conclude - Titus Simeon a co-ordinator of the veggetable garden project had the following to say:

‘’I’m here because of unemployment and my passion in gardening. If you have a certain knowledge try to get help,’’
