Husab mine urged to use desalinated water

Farmers from the Swakop River had a peaceful demonstration last week Friday in Swakopmund with the aim that the Husab mine starts using desalinated water for development and not the water from the river.

This will affect the livelihood of farmers as they use the river water for their gardens and livestock. ‘’And now they want to kill us by using our water, they must use the desalinated water’’ concluded Alessandra Tanzy of the farm Palmenhorts.
