Parents have been urged to not buy school stationary if learners are sent home by teachers regarding their lack of stationary. This was warned, last week, by the Regional Director of Education in the Erongo Region at the annual adress of school managers in Swakopmund. The education grant for primary and secondary schools has already been deposited into school bank accounts , by government, and amounts to N$ 174 per child for the first phase. The rest of the money will be received by April this year. The Regional Director Mr. J Awaseb concluded the following:
‘’ My concern is to the principal. We order and deliver stationary to our schools, we also give education grant to our schools, yet we see some schools requesting parents to still buy stationary. I want all principals to stop this practice because we give enough stationary and you can use the grant for what you need’’
