No more space for new learners in the Erongo Region

One of the issues discussed at the annual adress to school managers which took place at the Swakopmund Primary School on Friday was the issue of shortages and overcrowded classrooms especially in Swakopmund and Walvis Bay schools.

The Director of Education for the Erongo region, Mr John /Awaseb, said that Erongo is one of the preferred destinations for people and as such “we find ourselves in a situation where we cannot accommodate all the learners".

He said it is very concerning that there is no space for teachers to move around in class and delegate tasks to learners and no space for leaner centered education, and teachers are back to lecturing because the classes are so overcrowded.

The director also stressed that there is no way they can accommodate more learners as they are full.
