While every effort has been made during the festive season to ensure a healthy supply of blood, unfortunately, The Namibia Blood Transfusion Services find themselves without a sufficient blood supply.
There has been a steady decline in blood donations since the New Year and therefore currently, there is a shortage of blood. In particular blood type O positive and O negative is required.
An urgent appeal has been made for the public to donate blood. Those interested in becoming a blood donor should be older than 16 years, weigh more than 50kg, lead a sexually safe lifestyle and enjoy general good health.
