The fraud case involving the construction of a N$6,8 million fire station at Henties Bay was withdrawn against Henties Bay municipal officials Collin Guiseb and Franco Uirab, and Windhoek businessman Willem Thomas, on 13 September.
According to the court records, Swakopmund regional magistrate Gaynor Poulton noted that the state was not ready to proceed with the matter, and although the state applied for a postponement pending a new decision from the prosecutor general, she snubbed that application and ordered that the case be withdrawn and the N$50 000 bail paid by each accused to be cancelled and refunded.
